Events and Shows

The annual Elkhorn Valley Antique Power Association tractor display show is changing weekends and will be held on the third weekend in September in 2012. The 2012 dates are September 15 & 16. Currently it is held on the grounds of the popular Omaha area entertainment site, Vala's Pumpkin Patch, near Gretna, NE. The public is invited to the two-day (Saturday and Sunday) event. There is a small gate admission fee for all non-member attendees that allows interested persons of all ages to enjoy both the tractor display show and the entertainment activities at Vala's Pumpkin Patch. The tractor show includes  machinery demonstrations, kids games and lots of talk about tractors.

The 2012 Elkhorn Valley Antique Power Assn. Display Show will be held on September 15 & 16 at Vala’s Pumpkin Patch, 12102 So. 180th St., Gretna, NE. (This location is just 3 miles west and 11/2 miles south of the exit of Hiway 370 & Interstate 80 or 4 miles east and 1 1/2 miles south of Gretna).  CASE Farm Machinery will be the featured implements.   The show is open to all exhibitors, including non-members. Hours are 9 to 5 each day.

On a weekend prior to the annual show, the annual EVAPA antique tractor pull will be held.  The date for the 2011 Elkhorn Valley Antique Tractor Pull is Sunday, September 9, 2012.  Location will be at the Sarpy County Fairgrounds in Springfield, NE.  The pull begins at 11:00am and ends around 7:00 pm. 

The club will hold its spring "SHINE & SHOW", a single-day exhibit of tractors only on a Saturday in April or May yet to be designated, at the Nebraska Crossing Outlet Mall in Gretna and do it again along with its annual “Tractor Ride for Charity” in June 12th.   In a new approach, both of these events will be held on the same day, using Valley as the starting point for the tractor ride.  Also, there will be a Hayrack Ride/Weiner Roast in late October.  All of these events are opportunities for members to get together, show their equipment and share ideas regarding restoration.

Antique tractor pulls are also sponsored at various locations in Iowa and Nebraska during the year. Dates vary due to availability of equipment and locations.
